About Me

​I am the owner and baker at Fat Cat Cookie Company, a home based cottage bakery in Reno, Nevada. When I'm not baking, you can find me skiing or hiking with my husband or at a CrossFit class.

My favorite thing about baking is seeing smiling faces after a first bite. I have been baking since I was a child - making oatmeal cookies with my mom. I learned all about pie crusts from a college friend as we would make up recipes together. During college, I discovered Alton Brown’s cookbooks and a classic TV show, Good Eats. Alton thoroughly explains the why’s and how’s behind each recipe and this new knowledge elevated my baking. While my creations always tasted great, they weren’t always "pretty." After leaving my job in January 2016, I took months of cake decorating classes and a new passion was found. Soon, my cakes and creations were turning into works of art. I started baking and decorating sugar cookies to bring to special occasions. I have also donated hundreds of cookies for various fundraisers. At one event, someone asked where they could visit my bakery to order more cookies. I really thought about that question and decided nothing was stopping me. A week later, Fat Cat Cookie Company was born.
